Shymagical
A question/ research for my next story.

Anou...I've actually wondered this since episode 32...but just how old was little Souji when his parents got killed?

Comments

I was recently trying to figure this out for my own fic. I'm gonna be lazy and just copy what I rambled about in my LJ:

Kabuto takes place in 2006. We're not given a specific age for Tendou and crew, but we are given other dates to indicate how old the kids are. Tendou's parents died in 1988. Based on the flashback we see, he was probably four or five years old when this happened. That would put him as 22 or 23 years old in 2006.

The meteor hit Shibuya in mid-October 1999. October 18th, probably, if we're to assume that Hiyori and her worm!parents weren't trapped under the rubble for more than a day.

Hiyori, I'm guessing is 18 years old in 2006, based on the death of Tendou's parents. Hiyori was probably born seven or eight months later. Maybe a little less.

That's my guess. As far as I know, there isn't an official timeline, but I'd certainly be interested in one.

Ahhh! See, I thought they were 21. But they're both actually 23 in the show XD That's better to think Hiyoris is two years older than the 16 I figured out XD; Because I guessed that he was around 7 when his parents died.

I'm looking forward to your fic! <3

Ne ne, let's chat sometime :3

My only issue is that if Tendou's 22/23 in present time, that means he was 15 or 16 when Shibuya was hit. But the kid in the flashback doesn't look a day over 12, really. >___<

I think the only age we're officially given in the show is Tsurugi, who mentions he's 20 years old somewhere after episode 40.

Heeee. My fic will be epic! Hopefully. It'll take me forever to write and I'll have to rewatch the series again to take notes on all the backstory, but I hope I can start it as soon as I finish my current multichaptered fic (in a different, but equally as shiny, fandom).

Yes, definitely chat sometime. XD *nods*

*sparkles* My name is shymagical on AIM. What places can you chat on?

AND OH GAH TELL ME YOU HAVE THE FULL SIZE TO THAT ICON XD <3

I have the full size of the entire photoshoot.... somewhere. It's on a disk buried on my desk, but I shall look for it. I want to make more icons anyway. XD

For now, here are two smaller pics:

(Sorry to butt in. ^^)

Actually, we do know that Tendo was 21 and Hiyori was 18 in the "current year" of the story. You can find all the age of the main characters here: http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/kabuto/04_cast/list.html

Ah so I was right the first time...Hm..then that makes Tendou 14 and Hiyori 11 the first time they "met"

...Then Tendou was... at least three years old when his parents died.

HOWEVER DID HE GET TO GRANDMA'S HOUSE?!

Edit: AT least 11 when his parents died XD;; *whaps forehead* Serves me right doing math on two hours sleep.

later in the show, they tell you that he was 3 when they (the real ones) died.
i mean, they show it....
unless you mean the worm ones. in that case, you can just do math to figure out his age.

Oh? They actually said the age in the show?? I didn't recall.

I wonder how he found his way to Obaachan's o.o Well, he was probably found...but then...they would have taken him to his parent's house right? Unless the Worm moved on to get new names. Which wasn't the case.

um i believe so. that or i had to read it off of kabuto's diary page that
he was 3. but either way, yeah, he was 3. (i wish i could find it for you but.... x___x;)

probably found, as he lives in tokyo. as safe as japan is, a 3 year old walking around alone would be suspicious. hmm, you have a good point though... he probably would say they were dead, etc or something and his grandmother claimed him

See, I thought in the show they had said that he'd lost his parents three years earlier than when he met Hiyori.

Well, to his point of view, his parents were killed. And if he got adopted, it didn't matter. I mean, someone had to find the dead bodies of the original parents, right? Worm never seem very interested in dumping their victims anywhere after mimicking them, so the official thing might have been that his parents were dead. The Worm just had to re-register their names.

But then, considering they were Native, the government probably covered everything up. Hence Tendou's instant realization about how someone in a place of power must be helping the Worm.

hmmm see i can't remember exactly what they said but i do know that he was 3.
it was a picture of that cute little boy with "3 year old tendou" and then a
picture of the boy who played him in the movie with like "14 year old tendou"
cuz i'm pretty sure he was supposed to be pretty old by then.

yeah that's true. but i'm not sure he'd totally have the same brazen attitude
about him until after his grandma, since that seems to be where he go a lot
of his saying and wisdom right? but that would make sense too. although i
suspect that he gets his information somewhere other than actual sources...

Hence Tendou's instant realization about how someone in a place of power must be helping the Worm.

hmmm see i can't remember exactly what they said but i do know that he was 3.
it was a picture of that cute little boy with "3 year old tendou" and then a
picture of the boy who played him in the movie with like "14 year old tendou"
cuz i'm pretty sure he was supposed to be pretty old by then.

yeah that's true. but i'm not sure he'd totally have the same brazen attitude
about him until after his grandma, since that seems to be where he go a lot
of his saying and wisdom right? but that would make sense too. although i
suspect that he gets his information somewhere other than actual sources...

...Waaaaait. If Yaguruma was born in 1982...he should be 24 or 25, not 27 XD;

The character's age is only the number between parenthesis, the dates in the infobox to the side are the actor's date of birth. ^^

Oh, I see! I've kind of wondered if it was that way. But a lot of times they're the same, you know? My biggest doubt was why they'd give the character a birthday if it never came up in the show.

Aaaaah...I like that Yaguruma <3 I became more appreciative of him when I found out his actor is a crazy otaku like guy XD

See, I thought in the show they had said that he'd lost his parents three years earlier than when he met Hiyori.

Well, to his point of view, his parents were killed. And if he got adopted, it didn't matter. I mean, someone had to find the dead bodies of the original parents, right? um i believe so. that or i had to read it off of kabuto's diary page that
he was 3. but either way, yeah, he was 3. (i wish i could find it for you but.... x___x;)

probably found, as he lives in tokyo. as safe as japan is, a 3 year old walking around alone would be suspicious. hmm, you have a good point though... he probably would say they were dead, etc or something and his grandmother claimed him

Oh? They actually said the age in the show?? I didn't recall.

I wonder how he found his way to Obaachan's o.o Well, he was probably found...but then...they would have taken him to his parent's house right? Unless the Worm moved on to get new names. Which wasn't the case.

...Waaaaait. If Yaguruma was born in 1982...he should be 24 or 25, not 27 XD;
